Japanese encephalitis is caused by JE Virus, grouped with other Flaviviruses and transmitted by Culex spp. and primarily by Culex tritaeniorhyncus and the secondary vector is Culex quinquefasciatus

Culex quinquefasciatus is originally named Culex pipiens fatigans. Culex mosquitoes is the vector of some diseases such as Japanese Encephalitis (JE) and Lymphatic Filariasis
